May 7, 2010 — DRAWN is pleased
to announce the panel for The
Drawing Room,
a new national juried exhibition that will take place July
17 through August 7 as part of the festival's 2010 edition.
The jury panel for The Drawing Room 2010 juried exhibition
consists of:
- John Hartman, Artist, Penetanguishere, Ontario
- Sophie Jodoin, Artist, Montreal,
- Darrin Martens, Curator, Burnaby Art Gallery
- Angela Grossmann, Artist, Vancouver
- Amy Karlinsky, Critic, Winnipeg
- Monte Clark, Owner, Monte Clark Gallery, Vancouver and
Toronto
- Lynn Ruscheinsky, artist history professor, Vancouver
"We are honoured that we have
been able to bring together a panel with such a high level of
expertise for this first-time juried exhibition," said festival
co-founder Robert Kardosh. "We
want to encourage artists from across the country to submit their
work to the competition, in order to showcase the talent and
rich diversity of expression that define contemporary drawing."
The Drawing Room is a juried exhibition open to Canadian artists
18 years and older. The exhibition will be held at the Pendulum
Gallery in downtown Vancouver as a feature component of Drawn
2010.
