THE DRAWING PARTY

Metro Vancouver's inaugural drawing festival got off to a great start July 17 with The Drawing Party, the official launch party for Drawn 2009. Guests to the event were invited to watch and mingle as seven artists completed large scale drawings over the course of an evening that also included live music and installations. An additional drawing station was open to the public. Curated by Julie Lee, the themed party was a big hit, resulting in calls for a similar event next year.

The drawings will be auctioned at a special fundraiser for the Vancouver Drawing Festival Society in January 2010.
